Frank Gump, creator of the rock band Guy Franklin has been in the music industry his entire life. Starting as a young drummer at the age of 10, then guitar by the age of 14, Frank continued to train, develop and pursue the dream of being a professional musician. Playing in the local clubs with bands in the early years of WV, Frank relocated to Richmond VA and found himself performing in a top 40 showband. Frank's long time partner/guitarist Scott Bush called Frank to join a new rock band being formed in Ft. Myers Florida. Frank packed his car and found himself in the middle of the rock movement in South Florida. Frank and Scott continued to rise the ranks in the Florida rock circuit. Soon, offers began to present themselves to the duo to become part of the hottest groups in Florida.
Frank contributes his musical successes to groups such as TRITON, CHEERS, SIR-RENDER, YOUNG GUNZ, NOTORIOUS and the Orlando Fl based group BARRAGE where Frank fronted this group with Cellar Door Promotions, Fantasma Entertainment, and Omni Productions as its representation. Frank has performed with and opened national acts throughout his career. Now Frank has partnered once again with the talent of Scott Bush, Producer/Engineer/Guitarist with Timeline Studios in Ft Myers, Florida.
The GUY FRANKLIN project was conceived in 2008 with the record ARISE recorded in 2009 and mastered in January 2010 by legendary producer Michael Fuller with Fullersound in Miami, FL. The ARISE album was taken live in 2010 and GF played concerts and festivals in WV, TN and NC. GF showcased in Nashville, TN and developed partnerships including Sue Ross, Entertainment Consultant with the Nashville company The Inner Vizion. Going forward into 2011, GF will finish the new album yet to be titled and plans to release a music video as well. Guy Franklin will remain with its current record label TMG Records. Like the lyrics on the title track Arise, "Anything good in life...worth having doesn't come easy". The Guy Franklin journey has only just begun.
